Better than Colette, Jan 09, 2010

We've been to Colette several times and Jasmine once, and we prefer Jasmine.
Colette is very good, but the receptionist is not a great advertisement for the club and the DJ's tastes in music don't exactly get the dance floor heaving. The bar staff are excellent, though. Also, we haven't found it very easy to connect with people, though that's mainly our fault.
When we went to Jasmine, we were shown around by the very friendly owner. There was a (near-naked) woman downstairs acting as a master of ceremonies, and she soon had us playing nude Twister with our fellow guests, who were also very chatty and welcoming.
The guy upstairs with the collection of bondage equipment was quite a character too. My wife has always wanted to be tied up and controlled, but I didn't manage to persuade her. Maybe next time.
Jasmine was more casual and less like an exclusive nightclub than Colette. But we would urge you to try both and form your own opinion. |

| My husband and I attend Jasmines for the first time recently while in New Orleans and we LOVED IT! The people there were very nice. Not sure what the other poster meant about a boom box and not having a DJ, they have a DJ on the 1st floor. 70's? We found it to be more Indian/Asian than 70's. Jasmines was very clean, the people were nice and we REALLY enjoyed ourselves and hope to go back when we visit New Orleans again. |

| The owners and staff pay a lot of attention to its members, trying to make all feel welcome and comfortable. The music has improved greatly, and the services and accommodations are rapidly improving. If you haven't been in a while, check em out again. |
